I’m deeply surprised how far this thought’s are developed, to own another planet like Mars,
it’s in fact the planet next to us, what makes sense to go there next, after the moon maybe.
On mars it would be required to heaten up the whole athmosphere, because there it is to cold to supply live.
Mars has approximately half the radius of Earth. It is less dense than Earth, having about 15% of Earth’s volume and 11% of the mass. Its surface area is only slightly less than the total area of Earth’s dry land.[5] While Mars is larger and more massive than Mercury, Mercury has a higher density. This results in a slightly stronger gravitational force at Mercury’s surface. Mars is also roughly intermediate in size, mass, and surface gravity between Earth and Earth’s Moon (the Moon is about half the diameter of Mars, whereas Earth is twice; the Earth is about ten times more massive than Mars, and the Moon ten times less massive). The red-orange appearance of the Martian surface is caused by iron(III) oxide, more commonly known as hematite, or rust.[14]

We are also going fast forward with taking pictures from this amazing planet:

So far, the last update from the mars rover from the Jet Propulsion Lab’ (JPL) shows, that there might be an option for the rover on mars, that it could escape from the point it stucks since a long time. that would be nice, because The rover takes stunning real pictures from our next planet, like this one:

However, this mission is called “Free Spirit”

And if that isn’t enough, the JPL also have built up a special site to show the martian explorations and technical investigations in a cool way here:
